Manacled Slim Wrists

Double Take S5E5

Send me your feedback 1-805-910-7656 or

Welcome to the Orphan Black Double Take where I give you my first impressions right after seeing the sixth episode of season 5 titled “Manacled Slim Wrists” for the first time. I’m creating these short posts to encourage listener feedback by asking questions about the episode.

Feedback deadline is Monday at 12 noon Eastern Time.

This week’s questions are…

1) Did Mud betray them? Why?

2) Will Ira get the cure?

3) What does Dyad want a Dermal Delivery System for?

Send me your thought about these questions or any other part of this latest episode of Orphan Black.

I’d like to thank everyone who has subscribed to this podcast and encourage you to join the discussion by sending in your feedback by calling +1-805-910-7656 or by e-mailing me at

  1. Hi Mark,

I agree, another really good episode.

1 Did Mud betray? Highly possible, although I think Ira is also a (less likely) suspect. If she did, then she had not, at that stage, switched loyalties.

2 Unlikely, as I don’t believe there is a cure. There wasn’t one when Caster dropped out after season 3.

3 It’s a cellular delivery system which implies (to this non-scientist IT professional) that it is a possible delivery system for delivering gene-mutations.

I actually laughed out loud this episode (which I haven’t before) at Krystal, most especially at “You and that Australian girl”, that broke me up. I can’t remember breaking out in uncontrollable laughter like that before on this show.

Also: Tat’s partner Tom Cullen gets on the show too! Playing a creep, which they would have loved 🙂

    Other thoughts:

If, as per your speculation last week, Helena dies, then who gets to adopt the twins? Do we get to vote?

I have a (very, very) long shot theory as to who Mrs S’s deep informant is – Rachel. Based only on a comment by show-runner Graeme Manson in a pre-season interview, where he said that Rachel would not end up where we might have expected .
You may want to leave that out of your podcast if you think it’s a spoiler (in which case – sorry).
