Welcome everyone. What a great start to the two hour season 1 finale of The Expanse. I love how all the storylines are tying together. I anticipate great things for season 2.
In this week’s podcast after sharing some news from The Expanse, I talk about the the 9th episode titled “Critical Mass”.
On Earth we Avasarala visits her departed friends house in Anchorage. In it she discovers secrets that, much to her surprise, link Earth to the stealth ships that destroyed the Canterbury and Donnager.
On Tycho Station, Fred Johnson sends out a system wide broadcast proclaiming his innocence and shows proof of Earth’s involvement in the system wide hysteria.
The rest of the episode consists of flashbacks showing us what Julie Mao experienced since first setting foot on the Scopuli right up until our main characters find her dead body. As well as Miller and the Rocinante crew trying to get off a locked down station.
While Naomi, Amos and Alex try to make their way to their ship, Miller and Holden uncover a conspiracy involving something called the Proto Molecule. The same substance that killed Julie Mao. A mysterious man by the name of Dresden is experimenting on the unsuspecting citizens of Eros Station, injecting them with the substance and then exposing them to large doses of radiation. While trying to save the masses Miller and Holden are hit with a fatal dose of hard radiation.
